Monday, Monday

Mondays are hard on everyone. Mondays are really had after you have had a holiday. Mondays are really, really hard when you had a holiday and took off a week to move. But we made it through.
I was going to start this day off with a run, but the sand man put too much sleep in my eye. Ella and Olivia came into my room this morning telling me to get up. Since it was close to 9am, I did. Normally, I do not sleep in this late at all, but you see it doesn't begin to get light around here until 9am. It is an adjustment when your body is use to rising when the sun rises. Sutton Grace woke up shortly after. I fed her, fed the other two and then myself. I was tempted to sit around til the baby took her nap to take a shower and then start my day, but I knew I would get into lazy mode if I did that. So, we went upstairs, got the kids dressed and we started the day.
School was first. We are going to finish our alphabet this week. I am super excited for Ella. She still has trouble with a few letters, but with practice she is getting them. After the new year, we will work on learning how to read. She is doing well with her numbers also. If we keep up homeschooling, I will have to get a tutor for math. I really think that will be her strong subject. It is NOT mine.
Homeschooling has not come without it's struggles. There are many days that I think to myself, "Why am I doing this?" and "Why did I start this when I was having a baby?" Then she comes to me and shows me her letters that she has written on her own or points to one in the store and says "That is M!" That is when I know I am doing something right.
She still asks almost everyday to go to "real" school. We are going to take it one year at a time for now.
Sutton usually naps from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm. It is just one long nap. It is nice, because I can get most everything done during that time. By the time she is ready to nap, Ella is finished with school for the day. I work on chores. I got some laundry finished and the bed made up. Thankfully, Ella can make up her own now. The girls usually play for awhile in the playroom. I have had the tv on for most of last week and I am having to break them of it this week. It is not very pretty. I fix lunch, and around 1pm we have rest time.
Today, I got to shovel snow. I am really beginning to not like this snow shoveling thing. I wonder how many calories it burns? I did it for 45 minutes today. I am sure I will have to shovel it everyday this week. They are predicting snow all week. Fun!
When Sutton wake from her nap, it is getting close to dinner time. When JT is here, I just hand her off to him. I haven't figured out a good way to get it done without him here. Planning is going to have to start in the afternoon. I think I might do a lot of crock pot meals or make ahead casseroles until she can occupy herself during that time.
We ended the day with baths and of course Sutton cried the entire time...excuse me...she screamed. She does not like to be put down at night time. She just fusses from 5 until bed. It really is no big deal anymore. I have gotten use to it. She is just mad.
But over all, today was a good day. I keep telling myself "Today is going to be a good day." It helps in my attitude. I make sure the girls get plenty of hugs and kisses and that they know I love them. I try to spend a little time with each one of them separately during the day. Even if it is a quick cuddle in the chair. It seems to really help their attitude as well.
Now, I am ending my day. I am off to bed. Here is to hoping I wake up to run tomorrow...
