Up Ship Creek With My Camera

Ship Creek runs right through the base and right through town. When I talk about it, I can't let my southern drawl get in my way or it sounds like something else.
Yesterday, for a couple hours, we were able to get out and about. Since I had my camera, of course, I wanted to take pictures.
I hate this time of year. It is just ugly for the most part. The snow is brown in many places. The roads are either, muddy, clear or icy. And the weather just can't seem to make up it's mind.
But there is also something gorgeous about this time of year. I wanted to capture that. Most all the bodies of water are completely iced over during the winter. And during break up (when the snow and ice melt) the ice on the water forms awesome landscapes.
I hope you enjoy some these. These were all taken in the downtown area of ship creek and then the last few were taken were the creek feeds into.
Feel free to click on the photos to enlarge. You will get a better grasp of this awesome thing nature (aka GOD) does.
What looks like ice covered rocks in the next 2 pictures, are not. This is ice. This is what happens when the water freezes, melts a little for water to run through it and then freezes again.
How cool do these blocks of ice look??
I am assuming that this boat was suppose to be stuck? Not sure, but it is now and it will be awhile before it is moving again.
This is the sleeping lady. She is sleeping on her side. The part closet to you is her head with her hair flowing above and behind her. It really looks like a sleeping lady when you look at her. You see her everywhere.

Awesome Sarah. God really does bless us with beauty all around in His creation, sometimes we just have to take the time to stop, see it, and enjoy. Thanks for sharing!
