We have had Tank now for about 8 years. He has been with us everywhere and gone through everything with us. We affectionately call him the "old man". He snorts and snores and for the most part just wants to be left alone. But every now and then, he comes out of hiding for some love.
Tank is a yorkie-poo and his hair is a little uncontrollable (to say the least). It is very thick and very fine and curly. When he gets wet, he gets matted up. We have tried to brush him, but it doesn't help.
Our solution? Shave him. He went a little longer than normal waiting on a hair cut.
This is Tank before...
(no, there is no snow in our backyard, this was taken awhile back.)
This is Tank after...
He looks like a different dog. Our other dog River didn't even recognize him. Sutton Grace didn't recognize him. She kept calling him "puppy", which is what she does when she doesn't know the dog.
I asked the girls to love on him since we was being "tortured" for about 6 hours. (Yes, it takes that long, and we have been turned away from groomers before.)
Eventually, I had to tell them to stop loving on him....he was getting overwhelmed.
But he sure did love it for awhile, and he made sure to love back.
