"Mommy"

For the past 3 days, I really haven't been with my children.  That is a HUGE change for me.  I am always with my kids.  I love it too.  But after JT had surgery, things did not go as planned.  His surgery was supposed to be outpatient.  We were supposed to be home that day, and I had it all planned out.

After the surgery, they could not control his pain.  His heart rate dropped, and he would randomly stop breathing.  It was scary!  Once they decided to keep him over night, I figured he would go home the next day, but at 3pm, it became clear he was being kept over night again.  But day 3, he came home.  He is obviously still in pain, but he is doing as well as he was expected to be doing the day of surgery.

This afternoon, I got to spend more time with my kids than I have for the past few days.  We got to eat dinner together!

After dinner, we were goofing off.  We played our own version of air hockey with the top of a water bottle, and the girls were having fun making me guess what was in which hand.  We had our fair shares of funny faces.

But one thing was said that I hadn't realized I missed.  "Mommy".  It was said over and over again.  I haven't heard it a lot in 3 days, but tonight it was sooooo good to my ears.  I realized I do love that name!
Even though at times, I do threaten to change it ;)

I missed being mommy to my girls...goofing off and making them laugh.  And having dinner together.  I love being a mom!

I do have to say, I would not have been able to survive these past few days without the help of my mother in law.  She has taken care of my girls, so I can take care of JT.  He needed me more than they did.  To know that they were in good hands helped me to help him more.

I also loved serving my husband these past few days.  Although, I will say, I do not want to have to experience the scares I did.  So, no more surgeries...ok babe??
