Snow and Sunshine

I have to beg my kids to take pictures now.  It is so sad.

But it was BEAUTIFUL...the kind of beautiful that makes me thankful the army moved us up here.  The kind of beautiful that makes me think this is what heaven is like.  I just had to be outside and I wanted my kids with me....only 2 came.

Alaska is unique in that the light is not always good and in the winter, it will change drastically in 5 minutes.  I want to learn how to take pictures in snow.  I also want to learn what to do in harsh light, because in the summer, we have mostly harsh light.

So, instead of doing a lot of reading and getting completely lost in blog after blog about light and photography...I experiment.

Thankfully, Ella agreed to come with me when she found out we were going to the park...a park that is completely under snow....but she didn't have to know that.

She likes to pose, and I have given up on getting her not too.  It is her personality, and I want to remember that.
She stole my buff too!

Sutton Grace wasn't so sure about it all.  She stayed very close to me.
You could barely see where you were walking because everything is white.

It was -7 outside.
Mom and Grandmom, don't get on to me for not having hats and gloves on my kids.
I just wanted them to run around for a minute...let me snap a few shots with a lens I hardly use.  It needed exercise too.

After 5 minutes, Sutton Grace squatted by the car...we were done.
