Olivia

You see people posting pictures of their eyes all the time of places like facebook and stuff.  I always found those to be kind of corny....don't know why....maybe because everyone was doing it.  Just an opinion.  But there is something about eyes that are fascinating.
My eyes are brown, but around 23 years of age, they started to get more green.  I think my eyes are pretty cool looking...not cool enough to post of facebook ;)

My kids all have different eye colors for now.
Ella- brown
Olivia- blue-ish
Sutton Grace- gray blue
Campbell- blue but will probably be brown soon

Below are Olivia's eyes...look at that color!
Her eyes change color depending on what she is wearing.  Also, when the light hit her eyes just right, you see gold flecks.  I wanted to really capture that.

Her eyes are gorgeous!  And so is she.
The older she gets the more I realize how much alike we are.
I always saw her as taking after her daddy because of her natural athletic ability....and her constant need to be doing something.
But she is very much her mother's daughter.
Like me, she is an introvert (you know blogging is an introverts way of being an extrovert).

She is observant.
She watches and then tries on her own.
She gets very frustrated when she can't do it right the first time.
She has a tender heart.
She gets embarrassed easily.
She doesn't want anyone to see her cry.
She is stubborn.
She is funny...when you get to know her.
She is much more comfortable behind the camera than in front.
She prefers jeans to dresses.
She is a night owl.

By the way, all the 'she's' could be 'we'.

As I am watching her grow, I am reminded so much of how I was as a child.  I can also see some of the struggles she has that I had.  She is starting to realize that there are some really girlie girls out there.  Does she want to be like them?  Does she want to play with dolls, make-up, and play princess?  She is insecure and you can see that.
I remember feeling the same way....trying to be like the other girls.  But I wasn't comfortable with that bow in my hair.  I still don't like wearing make up or dresses.  I feel weird.  I feel like I am trying to be someone I am not.  I remember wanting to be like those girls...wanting to fit in.  But now that I am older, I am much more comfortable with who I am.  I hope to teach that to all my girls...

There is nothing wrong with being super girlie.  My oldest is that way.

But I want my girls to be confident in who they are.
God created them to be unique.

Someone once said that if we were all the same, we would be boring.  Can I get an amen??

Instead of wearing the princess dress, you will see her wearing super hero costumes (super woman or wonder woman), cow girl costumes.  She plays with horses instead of dolls.  She like cars and balls.  She likes to play with blocks....I always said she would make a great big sister to a little boy.  But she is a great big sister to little girls too!

Sweet Olivia is growing up!

It is exciting, but kind of sad.
