The Days are Long. The Years are Short.

As a mom of young kids (and slightly older than young), the days can be really long and all you want is  for bed time to come around.  I have many of those days.

But having slightly older than young children around, the years really are short.

Too short.

I try to maintain that perspective through out my day, when I am I dealing with tantrums, sick kids, loud kids, breaking up fights over toys or just one doing something that annoys the other, etc.

During those times, maintaining that perspective is hard.

All that to say, this little lady is turning 2 way too soon.

Sometimes I wish she was little, and I was holding her all day because she doesn't want to be put down. Those moments were sweet (even though I was totally tired and just wanted my arms free to do something I wanted to do).

But at the same time, it is fun to watch her grow as a person.  Watch her discover new things.  Have "conversations" with her.  Help her to grow to be independent.

I love her smile.  It is infectious.  And yes, she frequently goes with out clothes or she is in full winter garb.  She is a little dare devil.  She has epic melt downs.  She can scream beyond the hearing of humans.  She is fast.  She loves to give kisses to her family.  It takes her a long time to warm up to people.  She loves her sisters.  She loves animals and tries to ride them.  She will probably be an artist of some sort, and my walls would agree.

AND....

She is the best sleeper!!  Who would have ever though?!
