This weekend was one to remember! My mom was coming into town on Friday afternoon. I had decided to take the girls to the Savannah Mall, so they could play on the soft play playground inside. We were going to meet the MOPS (Mothers of preschoolers) group that I have been to once. I decided this would be a fun thing since it was raining like crazy. JT went with us, so he could go to Bass Pro shops while I hung out with the other MOPS moms.
The girls were having fun jumping and playing with the other kids. When it was time to leave, I went to get Olivia and another mother brought Ella over to me, she was crying. I sat down and asked her what was wrong. At times, Ella can be winy, so I didn't think much of it. She was holding her arm. I asked her if she hurt it and she shook her head yes. By this time, I realized she was crying differently. I pulled her sleeve up and saw that her forearm was in the shape of a "v"! I quickly called JT and told him to come here because we were going to the ER. He was there in about a minute. I called my mom and told her where we were going. So, she said she would meet us there. It seemed like it took forever for us to get there. Everyone was in our way!
By the time we got the ER, Ella was in a lot of pain and she was crying so much. They took us back immediately and the doctor saw us. Of course by seeing it you could tell it was broken. It was very obvious. (We took a picture, but I am not posting it.) She ended up breaking both bones in her arm. No X-ray needed to tell me that, I could see it. They put her under a conscious sedation and tried to set the bones back in place. They were able to set one. The other, we had to come in the next day to have her put under so they could set the other.
Thank goodness my mom was coming in town. I always say that God has us in His hand no matter what. I am so thankful my mom was there to help us with Olivia and Ella. It was nice to have someone there to keep JT and I from going insane.
The next day, JT and I took Ella back to the hospital. They weren't able to set the bone back together, but they were able to get it close enough to were it would fuse together. The doctor said at her age there is no point in doing surgery. She has a lot of bone growth ahead of her and she will have no problems from this.
So, my Ella Bella has to wear her pretty green cast for the next 6 weeks. She is a little trooper! One day she will understand the "coolness" of this. We have the x-rays and pictures for her to prove to her friends.
As for the broken plans. This was not the weekend we had in mind for my mom's visit. We were going to go to a pumpkin patch and take pretty pictures and let the girls pick out pumpkins. We also had plans to make Ella's mermaid tail.
We did get the mermaid tail finished. I am so glad my mom was here to do that too. Since she has been sewing for a long time, she thought of things I wouldn't have. It didn't take long and Ella has a pink mermaid tail for Halloween!

Oh poor baby! I am so afraid of that day...I don't know how I would react. Candace put a bead in her nose the other day and I thought I was going to call 911. Luckily Scott was there to talk some sense in me.
