Updates from the slacker

Sorry I haven't updated in a while. Frankly, I haven't felt like it. There has been a lot going on in the past couple of weeks. So, here we go...
JT re-enlisted in the army. We are very proud of him. He loves what he does and he loves the meaning that he has in his job. As hard as it can be on family, we fully support him. This does mean that he will deploy again. When and where we do not know.

Halloween came and went. While my mom was hear she made Ella's mermaid outfit. I am so thankful she helped, because she was able to do things I would have never thought of. She also showed me how to thread the sewing machine. I am still intimidated by it. I really want to take sewing lessons, I have a lot of crafty ideas. Since she broke she broke her arm, we wrapped a boa around her so it would resemble sea weed. My dear child was a fairy mermaid.
Olivia, my wild one, was a monkey. I made her costume as well.
We had Ella's 2 week appointment for her arm and it is not healing. Not the way EVERYONE told us it would. They (the docs) told us that one of the bones is drifting away. They said they would take more of a look at it in 4 weeks, but that it could take up to a year for her arm to heal correctly. They said they still didn't think she needed surgery to put pins in it. My thing is I don't want to have to worry about her arm for a year. It will not be as strong as it should be and she could easily break again. JT and I have decided that if it is not where it needs to be when we go back, we are going to ask that they perform surgery on her and put the pins in her arms. It will be hard, but we both feel that in the long run, it is better for her. She is only 4, I don't want her to be left out of activites until she is 5 and a half, for fear that she will hurt her arm again.

I totally agree about the arm. More pain and focus now will hopefully make it so that this isn't something that follows Ella for the rest of her life.
