Slow morning

Well, it was sort of a slow morning. We all woke up early. I have been way off my routine of getting up early to have time with the Lord and getting myself ready before the girls wake up. I really don't need to let that slide, especially my time with God. When that slides, so does my attitude. I planned on getting up early this morning and I prayed for God's help. When my alarm went off, I was wide awake. I had it set for 6:30 am, since it had been a little while since I woke up early, I didn't want to shock my system. Not only did I wake up, but so did Sutton Grace. No problem, I can feed her while I have some quiet time and getting ready can wait a bit. Then Ella woke up and then Olivia. By 6:45am all the kids were awake and then the "I am hungry.", "I am thirsty.", "Mommy, can we watch kids shows?". My reading and quiet time did not happen the way I had it planned. I do, however, get daily devotional emails sent to me and today's really spoke to me. It talked about speaking kindly. Remember being told, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."? Well, that was the jest of it.
I think I got off my intended subject...
Back to our slow morning. Once we were all fed, we got school started and finished by 8:30 am. We were still in our pjs. But we cuddled up on the couch and watched a movie. It was nice to just sit for awhile.
So, maybe it wasn't so much of a slow morning after all. After writing this, we still got a lot accomplished, including dinner in the crock pot. Oh well...
I wasn't so sure this day was going to get off to the best of starts, but it sure ended up being better than I could have planned.
