It rains a lot here (as if I haven't mentioned that enough). I makes me nervous when it rain, because I never know when or if it will stop. When the sun is out or when it is not raining, I make sure the kids and I are outside doing something to take advantage of the weather...because the next day it could start raining and not stop for 30+ days. It has before.
But with the nice weather comes being behind on my daily chores and then that pushes big projects out the window.
We have 2 weeks til we start our school year. I have been needing to go through the school stuff...throw away, make list of things to buy, to order, etc. I also have needed to go through the girls toys. They have a sinful amount, and there are many that aren't played with anymore. I have been warning them all summer that they would have to throw away the broken ones and give away some. We will be moving in the near-ish future and the army has a weight limit on our goods....after adding 2 kids...we are way over on our weight. JT and I have also been getting rid of things and selling things (honestly, it feels good to let go of things sometimes).
Today (Sunday) it rained.
So...since I was behind on my cleaning, my plan when I woke up was to clean the house. Then it morphed into purging the toys and we got a lot accomplished on that, but we were interrupted by lunch and Campbell's nap time. So, I figure I would go through the craft cabinets until she woke up so we could finish the toys and get their rooms organized and be done with a play room (we are trying to live within just 3 bedrooms). Well...that didn't happen..I ended up completely rearranging the kitchen and cleaning/organizing all the craft supplies, school supplies and school books.
I didn't get accomplished what I set out to do, but in the end, I feel very accomplished! I am ready for school to start now...not really.
The weather forecast has several more days of rain...maybe I can tackle the rest of my big projects.
But really....I hope the sun comes out!

I love how organizing, purging, cleaning can make you feel so accomplished and refreshed. Funny how it works that way - hard to get started some times, but once it gets going it's contagious to complete the task and go to another. :)
