So...if you know my husband you are probably thinking, "what vehicle did he buy now?".
Well, these new wheels do not have a motor.
JT got a wheelchair.
A year ago, we were told that due to JT's pain he had a 60% chance of him ending up in a wheelchair within 7 years. It was a punch in the gut, because we knew then that the doctors didn't really think there was much hope for him. But we figured he still had some years left. We never thought that a wheelchair would be needed so soon! Thankfully, it isn't a full time need. He can move around in our house and right outside of the house with his cane ok. But when we go out, we take the chair with us. He can walked about 40 ft before his legs starts to go numb and he looses the ability to use it. He does have good days when the pain is somewhat manageable, but most days it is not.
The day (2 days ago) he got his wheelchair it was beautiful outside. When the weather is nice, we (the girls and I) go for walks...since JT got his wheelchair, he can join us.
While the fact that he needs a wheelchair saddens us, the fact that he has one has opened us a lot of opportunities for us to all be together outside of the home (and doctor appts). Being together as a family means so much to my husband and I.
This makes us happy.
The girls love it!
We joked around about stickers to put on the wheelchair. My favorite is "How's my driving?" Call 555-5555" We are also trying to come up with a good story about why he has a wheelchair....like he got in a fight with a gopher...
It would not be a walk in the woods, without a race....so they set up while Campbell gets a head start.
Notice the wheelie? He has wheelie stoppers in the back (as well as a seat belt)...but he probably needs a helmet too.
And again...a walk in the woods would not be complete with out a sign of Big Foot. :)
Who needs a stroller anymore? And who can say no to those eyes?
My husband is such a boy.
He had to see how fast he could be clocked...there was a slight slope, so he got up pretty fast!
(Campbell is in my arms, not in JT's lap...just incase anyone was worried.)

Not happy that your man NEEDS one of those, but pumped that you guys are already reaping the benefits of time together! Cracking up at the race photos and the mph attempt... sounds like something my man would do!
