10 Years Blessed

Just recently, my husband and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary.

31 days before, I wasn't sure we would make it to the 10 year mark.  Not because we were having problems, but I was certain I was watching my husband die.

His health has never been normal, since returning from Afghanistan and has gradually gotten worse.  While we have answers for some things, we are still waiting answers for others.

That day, I stood with Campbell on my side waiting for the EMT to arrive is still etched in my brain, and it still haunts me.
Thankfully, they arrived in time, but if they were just a couple minutes later, I am not sure what would have happened.

We still don't have many answers to exactly why this happened, but he is ok.

If I didn't know before that day, I sure as heck know now that I want that man in my life.
I thank God that He brought us together at just the right time.

10 years is a milestone, it is a young one, and we have many more decades to go.  But in many ways,  feel like we have lived a lifetime in these 10 years.

We have both grown in so many ways, and I am glad that we grew up together.

We are truly blessed.

These photos were taken a couple days after his release from the hospital.  They represent a feeling we were all feeling....a feeling I can't put into words.

From the moment we were all at home, every time Campbell climbed into JT's lap, she fell asleep.
I would like to think that what she saw, she doesn't remember, but little one's are smarter than we give the credit for.  It is clear that she was just as thankful her daddy was home as the rest of us were.

On a lighter note, we had big plans for our 10 year, but in true military fashion, they have other plans for us.  So, one day, we will celebrate the way we wanted.

We did celebrate by getting a babysitter, eating mexican, and going off roading.

It was fun.  I really like being with my man!
