I will admit we get to do somethings that many people only dream of. I take this for granted sometimes.
This summer we went on a drift boat trip to the Kenai River. (Yes, this is a very late post. But these spring like temps have me dreaming of summer.)
I am more comfortable on land than on water, so you could say I was nervous. I was unsure how the kids would do, the little ones.
But everything went wonderfully. We were split up in two boats. I had Ella and Campbell. JT had Olivia and Sutton. I was pretty miserable with Campbell and she was with me. We ended up switching Sutton and Campbell and then it was smooth sailing...um...drifting after that.
Ella was the first to catch a fish. Her trick? She calls them in saying "Here fishy fishy."
I even caught my first fish in Alaska! It was a rainbow trout. Our boats got separated and JT wasn't able to see it. I let Ella take a picture with it since I don't touch fish. Eww! Neither does Olivia. :)
Huge shout out to our guides, they were wonderful. Our trip was through the Drifters Lodge in Cooper Landing, Ak.
Oh...I almost forgot...we saw a bear! hehe
