I have not been on any fishing expedition with him so far. I wish I could. I do like fishing, but when it involves 2 little girls going with us and my amazing ability of balance the extra weight I am currently carrying...I think twice before heading out. So far he has gone on several trips.
The first trip that reignited the fishing bug was a fishing tournament for halibut. He went and camped in the Alaskan wilderness with a few friends. The next morning they got up and boarded boats heading for the Cook Inlet. He caught 2 large Halibut and 5 yellow eyed rock fish. He apparently "lost" the prize winning halibut, because his line wasn't strong enough....you know how those fishermen are with their stories. ;)
There were also some very special guest at this fishing tournament. The Governor and her husband. You may know them as John McCain's running mate, Sarah Palin and the "first dude". I do believe my husband was very excited to meet Sarah Palin, because what comes out of his mouth "You're hot." She was very sweet and said thank you. I am sure she hears that a lot, especially around the military guys. He also got to speak with Todd Palin who was holding their youngest son, Trek. Please note the goofy grin on JT's face when he got his picture taken with Sarah Palin.
Even though it seems JT is gone a lot on the weekends, he is very good at taking the girls with him. Ella LOVES it, Olivia just likes to run around. Ella loves it so much, she knows the name of the fishing pole parts, how to cast, set the hook when she gets a fish, reel it in, and clean a trout. I think JT has a fishing buddy for the rest of his life. He may be at a loss with Olivia, but atleast she likes soccer.

How funny! From their personalities, you would think that Olivia would be Jason's big fishing buddy. How cute!
My hubby will be so jealous when I send him a copy of this post. He loves fishing and seeing the fish JT is pulling out of the Alaskian waters is amazing!
