My 7 and 4 Year Old Blessings (A Very, Very Late Post)

So, I have a 7 and 4 year old that have been 7 and 4 for...oh....a long time now.
I know I have slacked, but life has been super busy.  I still have more to document on this little space like a 32 year old I have also and a retiree and so on and so forth.  I am sure I will get to it at some point. :)

I always like to photograph the kiddos around their birthdays.  I shot Olivia and Sutton a little later than I normally would.  I really didn't want to shoot them together, but their birthdays are a few days apart, and they have a special bond.  I like to explain it like this.  Olivia has more of my personality and Sutton has more of JT's personality...total opposites, but it works.  Olivia "gets" Sutton, just like I "get" my husband.

So....we headed off to a gravel pit.
Yes, a gravel pit!
Out of all the beautiful places in Alaska, I picked a gravel pit...oh, just trust me.

Like this salmon?  It gave me the creeps.  I kept thinking there was a bear somewhere near by even though we are a few miles from any water source.  When I got home and explained to JT what I saw, he told me he saw a neighbor taking his fish carcasses to the gravel area behind our neighborhood and dumping them.  What a way to attract some unwanted wild life! :)

Olivia is THE most giving child in our family.  Her unselfish heart blows me away on a daily basis.  I was certain when she became a big sister, she would always hate it.  I was wrong.  She is the best big sister.  And I am certain when she is old enough to baby sit, she will be in constant business.

I also love her style.  It never really "matches" and she has holes somewhere in her clothes.

Oh, Sutton Grace!
This little one is hard to explain...you have to experience her.  She is one extreme to the next.  She is not big on large groups.  She is incredibly creative.  She is always testing me as a parent.  Our church did a series on how to deal with our "Crazy Makers", and I know God was giving me parenting advice during that series to better deal with her.

But I love her so!!

Olivia has never been big on being in front of the camera, and neither have I.  So, I let her play around with mine...just like my Dad use to let me do with his camera back in the day.  She takes direction well.  The next two photos are hers.

I have some pretty cool kids!
